What is Engage Training?

This material was developed as an introduction to GMC missions, and to provide training for effective missional engagement.

Engage mission mobilization trainings and events are designed to EQUIP, EMPOWER, and CONNECT congregations and ministries, as we seek to make disciples in every corner of the world:

1. EQUIP local churches to strengthen missional awareness and capacities.

2. EMPOWER them to develop Spirit-led missional engagement that is faithful, fruitful, and effective.

3. CONNECT churches with Missional Partners following the Acts 1:8 pattern.

The Engage training events are structured to include praise and worship, scripture study, exploration of GMC related resources, and prayer. Trainings may also include sessions for children and youth to equip them in understanding and praying for missions.

Pastors and mission/outreach committees are encouraged to hold an Engage mission training event at their local church or district. Once trained, participants can ‘pass it on’ by using these materials to share what they have learned with local church leaders and members who could not participate in the regional events. For some, this will be a refresher course. For others, it may the first time they’ve encountered God’s heart for the nations and our role in Acts 1:8 Missions.

This is a great opportunity for local churches to reconnect with Jesus’ call to make disciples as found in Matthew 28:18-20 and reignite passion for faithful, fruitful, mission engagement throughout the world.

While this training will have great impact with all lessons being presented together in one dedicated Engage event, a church may incorporate the lessons in whatever training or equipping format that will permit members to learn effectively. Small groups can also work through the lessons more for a more in-depth understanding after a training event.

We trust the Holy Spirit will work in hearts, resulting in increased obedience to the Great Commission, missional zeal and fruitfulness.

How did you choose the languages to translate? Which languages are next?

We are actively working with mission partners around the globe on translation projects that can equip churches in under-resourced languages. We are prioritizing language groups that have upcoming scheduled Engage trainings.
